[In her room, Luna has stacked up all her furniture in the middle of the room in order to reach the ceiling. She lies on her back on a desk that's tilted precariously on a chair, a globe, three books, and a coat rack. Somehow it all manages to stay upright.

Paint drips into her hair as she paints her ceiling. Faces of people on the Barge are recognizable - people she's met and interacted with, Iris, Bush, Steve, Facilier, MewTwo, and others.

She's not a bad artist, really. It's a lot more fun than the art room, where they expect you not to paint on the walls]

[ She laughs out loud. Okay, Luna might be weird, but she has such an interesting way of looking at things. ]

What if you were in a spaceship near one of the red suns? Would that do it?

Maybe... I haven't had the chance to study the phenomenon much. It could be that it's a result of my people developing in conjunction with red solar radiation, or it could be something more short-term.

I think it would be an interesting experiment to try. Provided you could find a pregnant mother willing to agree to it.

Of course it is. It's my home.

How long has it been since it stopped being your home?

It never stopped being my home. But I haven't seen it in around an Earth year.

That's quite a long time.

It feels like longer.

Time can be funny like that. It stretches or shrinks depending on what's happening.

Neurology really is a fascinating study.

Or just time itself, if you have use of something that elongates it.

Time is interesting enough the first few times you play around with it. It gets boring after a while.

Oh! Do you have a Time Turner? I've always wondered what would happen with one of those..

No, my uncle does a lot of research projects. He used to let me play with them as long as I promised to be careful.

Be careful by not breaking time, you mean.

[notdreaming]

Oh, there were plenty of safeguards against that sort of thing or he wouldn't have run the experiment to begin with. He just didn't want me to break any of his equipment or hurt myself.

Yes - experimenting can be dangerous at times. Even the cleverest of adults can be hurt or killed.

[notdreaming]

[ That makes her laugh. ]

You sound like my mother.

Was she fond of experimenting? Your mother?

[notdreaming]

Yeah. [ She smiles fondly at a memory. ]

But she was more fond of me. Father would forget the rest of the world, sometimes, when he got into a project.
